Kenna Marie Lynn is a multimedia artist based in the Philadelphia area. She received her BFA from Alfred University in 2017 with a concentration in Illustration and Expanded Media.

My work is a love letter to the medium and a love letter to narrative. While I also work with sound, animation, and graphite,  I always find myself gravitating back to Watercolors. There is something about the intimacy of the ritual. You have to trust the material and live with the mistakes. There is no opportunity to cover them up with an overpainting; you must make the most of them.  It requires patience, even when you are eager to take the next step. There is a natural warmth and approachability. I have always associated watercolor paintings with the comfort I found, as a child, in the illustrations on each page hiding on the bookshelf. Every illustration could tell a story, regardless of the text, and emotion seeped through that single moment captured on the page.
